STV-230: QM-Fit Basic Training

Mitutoyo America’s eLearning Courses are designed to give end-users unique, active learning experiences with tools and gages of all varieties. With these unique educational experiences, end-users can open the door to quality and extend the life of their tools with proper use, care, and replacement procedures. Courses are designed by our employees and certified through strict calibration practices and procedures, to combine accuracy and safety through all courses. These courses cover common practices, proper measurement procedures, and detailed operations for more experienced users. Digital versions of the tool are available for visual reference, but it is recommended to have the tool or gage available during the course.

Course Materials:

In this eLearning Course, Mitutoyo end users will be introduced to the Mitutoyo QM-Fit! This new vision solution gives users a brand new look to quick and efficient measurement operations. Starting with the simple design, users can now place parts for measurement on the workstage of the QM-Fit and have results in seconds! New users can learn how to get up and running with their new QM-Fit, while experienced metrologists can add increased efficiency when utilizing this new tool.

The following topics are covered in this course:

1) Machine Overview

Get acquainted with Mitutoyo’s QM-Fit! Learn about the machine hardware before diving into a software overview. Users will get extensive training on each button and menu of the machine.

2) Basic Machine Operation

Once familiar, new users will be given a walkthrough on all basic machine operation skills. Start with the safe Startup and Shutdown procedures before being introduced to dynamic Lighting controls, intricate Measurement Operations and part programming, before exploring the tolerance capabilities of Mitutoyo’s QM-Fit.

3) Example Measuring Procedure

Once familiar, new users will be given a walkthrough on all basic machine operation skills. Start with the safe Startup and Shutdown procedures before being introduced to calibration/image correction procedures. Once you’ve calibrated your machine, learn about the different dynamic lighting controls, intricate measurement operations and part programming, before exploring the tolerance capabilities of Mitutoyo’s QM-Fit.

4) Outputting Data

Outputting data on your QM-Fit is as simple as it gets! Learn how to properly export, save, and transfer data to and from external storage devices on your machine (such as USB or External Hard Drives).

5) General Maintenance

The QM-Fit does require general and routine maintenance. In this section, users will learn the different ways to maintain the QM-Fit.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to the end-user for finishing the course.
