Mitutoyo ROUNDTEST® RA-1600

Mitutoyo ROUNDTEST® RA-1600 offers high-end precision and powerful software in compact footprint

(Aurora, IL)  The new ROUNDTEST® RA-1600 roundness/cylindricity measurement instrument from Mitutoyo America Corporation offers high-end precision plus the versatility of ROUNDPAK® data analysis software in a compact footprint.  With its robust design and 25 kg capacity, the ROUNDTEST® RA-1600 is as well suited for the production floor as it is the QC Lab.

The high rotational accuracy of the unit’s turntable (radial [0.02+6H/10000] µm, axial [0.02+6X/10000] µm) enables measurement of flatness in addition to roundness/cylindricity.  The ROUNDTEST® RA-1600 features a DAT (Digital Adjustment Table) mechanism that makes workpiece centering and leveling simple and fast, since measurement functions including arc measurement are automatic.  DAT table setup can even be incorporated into the part program to eliminate human error in centering and leveling.  A high-precision, power-driven Z-Axis column enables evaluation of straightness as well as cylindricity.  A detector is included to prevent damaging collisions in the Z-Axis.

The Mitutoyo ROUNDPAK® measurement and analysis software, which is included, makes the ROUNDTEST® RA-1600 versatile and easy to use.  Running under Windows®, ROUNDPAK® is designed to simplify setup, control, and measurement while providing unmatched analysis output functionality.  Parameters for oundness/cylindricity, as well as flatness and parallelism, are provided.

ROUNDPAK® also includes an offline teaching function which enables virtual execution of the measurement operations in a 3D simulation window.  By storing and indexing measurement and evaluation setups, libraries of sequences can be compiled.  Custom reports, including visual depiction of data in 3D graphics, can be easily generated.

Competitively priced, the ROUNDTEST® RA-1600 occupies only a small footprint on the bench; however, it delivers big value in the class of small roundness/ cylindricity measuring systems.
