Profile Projectors – Accuracy and Calibration

Description: This technical bulletin addresses the accuracy and calibration of profile projectors, also known as optical comparators. No international or American national standard currently exists that addresses the specification of profile projectors. The technical basis for this document is the Japanese national standard on this topic, JIS B 7184:1999. This technical bulletin summarizes the most important technical issues; however, the JIS standard should be consulted for further information. accur_profile_projh Download:   Tech Bulletin - Accuracy of Profile Projectors The Mitutoyo Institute of Metrology provides educational courses and on-demand resources across a wide variety of measurement related topics including basic inspection techniques, principles of dimensional metrology, calibration methods and GD&T. Metrology Helps Hone Precision

Mitutoyo helps meet customer expectations in the realm of deep hole boring, where diameters are more than 20 mm. One of the specialties offered by Hone-All Precision Ltd. of Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, is the machining of nickel-chromium-based super-alloy components to tight tolerances. These oxidation and corrosion-resistant materials, typified by Inconel and Hastelloy, are well-suited for service environments subject to extreme pressure and temperature, and therefore, are favorites of the petrochemical industry, however, they are very difficult to machine. Accelerated tool wear is a constant concern. This is particularly true in the case of bored-hole features that sometimes approach three meters in length and which usually have to be finished by honing to meet stringent customer specifications. Form accuracy shaped up Due to the length of a typical bore, obtaining the accuracy potential of single-point tooling is impractical, except...

CNC CMM TRADE-IN TRADE-UP PROGRAM

Since 1968, Mitutoyo Corporation has been manufacturing coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). The AE100 series manual CMM was the rst CMM to be featured in our U.S. catalog in 1976. Throughout the years, we have built tens of thousands of CMMs to serve a variety of industries around the globe. Due to the success here in North America, some of our CMMs have been in operation for more than 20 years. We are proud of our high quality and product performance, however, we are equally proud of our continued development and advancements in CMM technology. Based on our dedication to accuracy, reliability, speed and enhanced sensor technology, we believe now is the time to upgrade to take advantage of these bene ts. To help the thousands of operators using Mitutoyo legacy CMMs, we are...
